The House of Refuge is an "Apostolic" church. We refer to ourselves as "Apostolic" because we "continue steadfastly in the Apostle's doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers" (Acts 2:42). We believe, preach, teach, and practice the teachings that Jesus handed down to the Apostles and commanded for them to teach us (Matthew 28:18-20). Therefore, we preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and we proclaim that by faith in His name, you can receive the forgiveness of sins (Acts 10:42-43). For, "neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven, given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). We herald the same proclamation that the Apostle Peter preached on the day of Pentecost. When you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, "Repent and be baptized everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For this promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God will call." (Acts 2:38-39).
Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
